I'm bending the rules for a bit.
Jared "Kaminoan" Burks is auctioning off a custom Mace Windu. All proceeds benefit the American Red Cross:
Mace Windu
Mace is in Dark Tan, comes with a purple non-LULS lightsaber blade, and features an American Red Cross decal on his back. This is a one of a kind figure.
American Red Cross Minifig
The American Red Cross Minifig features two distinct decals, one on the front, one on the back. Each figure has the same set of decals. He is also giving away a set of decals for free on the condition that you use the figure to raise money for the American Red Cross.
RecluceMage is auctioning off a Commander Fox custom cast helmet. 100% of the proceeds will benefit the Mississippi Animal Rescue League. Here is the direct link to the auction:

Robert Martin is auctioning off a Hellboy custom minifig for charity. 100% of the proceeds goes to the American Red Cross - Alabama Gulf Coast Chapter. Here is direct link to the auction:

If anyone else would like to advertise their auctions for charity benefitting Hurrican Katrina survivors, please send me a PM.

I just looked at the auction ... $202.50
Looks like I will just be contributing directly to the Red Cross.
Great idea Robert.
Good luck. _________________

Hey guys,
Great auction, great cause, great custom. I'm a bit confused. On the auction itself it alternatively says it is by Mike Mignola and Tothiro.

mmcb designed the "jacket" piece:

Mike Mignola is the creator of Hellboy and a great comic writer. Robert was simply giving his proper credit to the creator of the character
Wow robert, this is absolutly awesome that its up so high already... I think it's safe to say that you have made minifig auction history with this one! _________________ Chris C. :: uubergeek

Wow. I'm really impressed. Kaminoian is (no offense to others) the best Lego decalist I've ever seen. It's so thoughtful what everyone is doing towards this disaster. If I wasn't just a kid, I'd be helping too. I already put some money aside towards the Red Cross. |

Ace (or Jared, even) can you explain just what a Dutch auction is?

In a nutshell, there are multiple identical items available, and you bid for how many you want, and what price you're willing to pay for each. At the end of the auction, the bids are all tallied, with the highest 'per item' bids winning the auction.
For example, if I bid $100 for all ten figs, and you bid $30 for three figs, you would win the three figs you bid on, and I would have the option of purchasing the remaining seven. The reason being that you're not obligated to buy anything if you have a winning bid, but for fewer total items than you wanted. If I opt out, the remaining figs go to the next highest bidder(s). _________________ My BrickLink store |
