New vignette based on one of my favorite scenes from "Monty Python and the Holy Grail:"

Let me know what you think!

"Your mother was a hamster, and your father smelt of elderberries! "

I like the technique of using both plates and bricks, gives it a more rigid and interesting structure. The choice of heads works well, but I agree with DonSolo the coconut halves should be brown. The only sets that brown 1x1 round plates come in are the Sopwith Camel and the Wright Flyer, but that doesn't really increase the price on Bricklink; they are only $0.03 a piece. Very good work! I remember when you posted your original Monty Python stuff on PHPBBFBTB. They inspired me then, and they inspire me now.

Very good! Smile

If you have the two disk DVD set, on the second disk (under 'unfilmed scenes') there is a version of the Camelot sene done with LEGO.

Thanks for looking, everyone, and excellent feedback! The critical consensus seems to be that coconuts should be brown. Very Happy

As Yesh points out, though, the brown 1x1 round plate piece is fairly rare. Sad Three cents isn't a problem, but minimum orders are. (I'd like to avoid spending $7.94 on stuff I don't need just to get six cents of stuff I do. Sigh...)

Looks like coconuts are going to be gray until I find a BrickLink store with $7.94 (or whatever) of stuff I need, in addition to those two pieces. Crying or Very sad But keep the feedback coming -- it's very much appreciated!

Carry on, then, you silly kuuuuunighits!!! ::D:

I think the carping over the color of two tiny 1x1 pieces that aren't widely available in those colors is a really inane thing to dwell on, and it's a bit small of others here to focus on that. IMO, of course.

I think complaining about the carping over the color of two tiny 1x1 pieces that aren't widely available in those colors is a really inane thing to dwell on, and it's a bit silly of you to focus on that. IMO, of course. Wink

Seriously, he asked what people thought of it. They told him they thought he should fix that, but the general consensus is that it's a hit despite the flaw. No harm, no foul. What's the point in griping about something like this, dude?

I think it's just a bit nitpicky to focus on the color of a 1x1 round plate, very close to being the smallest LEGO element anyway, particularly given that element in the desired color isn't readily available in most people's brick libraries, the color used instead isn't so ill-fitting as to make the detail not work (say, green, maybe, or translucent orange or something), and it's such a truly minor part of the overall construction.

It's obvious (s)he'd have used brown plates if they'd been available. They weren't. (S)he used the very next best thing. The rest of the construction is a delight, with plenty of other nifty little details. The one thing people focus on is this element the builder can't do anything about. It just strikes me as mean-spirited, that's all.

I go off to finish reading Harry Potter, and come back to find a minor disagreement going on in my thread. Wink

I genuinely appreciate what you said, Blondie-Wan. Thank you.

I also value the feedback everybody has offered on my new MOC. CC, you make a fair point -- I did solicit feedback, and that's precisely what I got. Very Happy

Thanks again, everyone!

P.S. I'm a dude. ::D:
