Awesome, Collin! Very Happy I have a Fellowship of the Rings movie companion book signed by Sean Astin and Peter Jackson as well as the screenwriters. It was really cool being able to meet them at a booksigning a few years ago. Very Happy

Are you kidding? I'm terrible with celebrities. Doesn't matter how big or little a part they have on TV or in a movie, I'm too star-struck to say anything more than "Can you make it out to Collin? With two L's?" and "Thank you SO much for coming out and doing this." Every damn time... Smile

Funniest part was when I was getting Astin's autograph. The lady who was ushering people through the line used to take care of me when I was a baby. So when it was my turn, she said "Sean, this is Collin. I've known him since he was three months old, so be good to him!"

Sean stared at me for about five seconds, then said, "I don't know what exactly she wants me to do to you, but..." ::D:

That was better than what she usually says while introducing me. Everyone from Kenny Baker (R2-D2) and Amy Allen (Aayla Secura) to Brent Spiner (Star Trek's Data) and Mike Quin (Nien Nunb) knows that she used to change my diapers. Shocked

Wow, thats cool Collin Smile

Im the same way around "celebrities", when I met (used loosley) Stephen King at a book signing, I could barely stand there, let alone ask for the autograph. Cool guy in person. Hope he comes around again.

Sounds like you just need to hide your head so the woman doesn't recognise you. Use the alias Cellonater.

The last time I remember getting an autograph didn't how I would have planned either...:D.

I ran into Chicago Cubs great Ron Santo outside of the stadium before a game. I ended up handing him a crappy ball my brother handed to me in the excitment and he could barely sign it cause of it's texture. Trying to act like I cared more about the meeting then the autograph (which honestly I did) I mentioned something about hoping he makes it to the Hall of Fame soon.

When I walked away I remember thinking, God everyone and their mother probably uses that same line when they meet him and he probably thinks I bet you do wish it since the autograph will be worth more then.

Just as a side note he was a really nice guy and allowed us to take pictures and signed mulitple items for my brother (who is more about the autographs then the meeting...:D).

Another side note my best friend was in a bar after a St. Louis Cardinals game and 3 of the Cubs players walked in. My friend ended up buying Mosis Alou and one of the pitchers a beer and sat and talked with them and took multiple pictures. The third player you ask? Sammy Sosa, but apparently he was very rude and his body guards wouldn't let anyone near him unless they were female. Least that's according to my friend who admitted he was too drunk to remember to get autographs. I've seen the pictures though so I know he isn't lieing.

I forgot to mention earlier that when I was standing in line at the door Sunday morning, David Anders pulled up in the driveway, walked right past us, waved, and went in. And I stood there, staring and grinning like a dumbass.

Yeah, I rock. Smile

Anyway, here are a couple pics of me with the celebrities who were actually letting us take pictures with them.

Me and David Anders
Me and Tom Jane <-- AWFUL picture. Sad

It's not too bad. Don't worry, and if you are REALLY ashamed, take it off the net! Quick!

Pretty cool. I still have to see Punisher and Alias though Wink

I met John O'Hurley (better known as J. Peterman from Seinfeld) at a restaurant in Santa Barbara. Um, that's about it. I'm trying to remember other people... My mom met various famous people, including George Lucas himself when she was a waitress at the Mikado restaurant in the local Marriott here...

Collin, I have to admit that a post entitled "score" on Valentine's day made me do a double-take for a second there Wink (I've got an over-active double-entendre detector)

but those are some spiffy autographs -- and a hilarious side story to boot (about the lady sharing your personal history with all sorts of celebs.) She must really enjoy giving you a bad time Very Happy

Very Happy I thought the same thing...:D.

I'm trying to remember the clebs I've meet. Most of them have been sports stars, I'm not sure they I ever meet a movie star. On that note though, my dad went to high school with the lady that was the Captain in Star Trek Voyager. One of the bigger stars to come from my town. Oh yeah, my town also was the home of Tommy John...yep the guy who the surgery is named after.
