Imterviews! That's what this site is missing....
Anyway, I don't really see anything that really needs to be added. Most of what we have now is just fine with me. _________________

Interviews sound pretty cool, I'd like to see those. If the Customs section is revamped, make it easier to navigate, no more pop ups everytime I click on a picture, nice gallery with thumbnails is win. _________________

Customs should make a return, but not directly hosted by FBTB, like the current/outdated version. Hosting all the COTW's in a special thread/pool on the FBTB Flickr outpost would be fine.
Gotta get back the good old '05 colour scheme, and maybe go back to basics on the avatars. Say, choosing from a pre-selected scheme, for more uniformity and cohesiveness.
I'd also love to see the return of the FBTB reviews, either by Ace or another member. They were great, well-photographed, and informative, and if Ace can't keep up, then have someone else do them too.
Interviews would be a fun quirk too, I agree. _________________ http://www.ogame.org |

It would be neat if we can get some features going again... ala Greg's comics. These features will help keep the site fresh in down times especially.
Some ideas:
- FBTB Cribs: feature a different member's bedroom/storeroom/display once a week/month/bi-weekly. It would be fun to see how some of us store our collection, show off our models, and display our MOC's.
- Set Reviews: I know this is something every LEGO site does, but why not? (Especially if we can get some sets early for the reviews).
- Interviews : Again, we get a small groan, but its true, those were really interesting.
- LEGO Site Spotlight : We aren't the only one out there, and, honestly, with the new cross-theme focus, we can expand our horizons (and maybe get some reciprocal links in return). _________________ BULLETIN ISSUED SATURDAY 01.31.2009 11:59:59PM PST. ATTENTION ALL CITIZENS: PLEASE READ THIS

An RSS news feed is the biggest thing I think is missing.
My second priority would be an updated LEGO Star Wars set index for reference. |

A way to browse and read old news.
Maybe this will be useful for you mods/admins... A permanent news entry that doesn't move down as new news is added, for special announcements/news... Make it so it can be changed, added to, or removed for updates and such. This is only for important stuff like forums being broken or Don being taken to court again. _________________

Is this just about the forums, or are we ging to see a revamp of the home page. Just because some sort of menu for the moths past would be great so we could look back on old news we missed, or just want to have another look over because it was cool.
As per the forums, and regarding the RtB policy. In the past 3 or 4 years we've had one exclusive (afaik, we had lots in the pryears previously) on new sets, and one interview to help decide the future of a set, which we've heard nothing about.
I know some people have huge issues with the policy, but is there any way at all, in which by having the same basic policy, and somebody talking to LEGO, we can actually get Preliminary shots, or info on what sets are going to be released?
Just wondering. Or is the whole thing going to be chucked?
It'd be nice to see interviews for certain members in here.
A quarter yearly musical for the pod cast.
I liked Jeremy's FBTB Cribs idea. That'd be a cool thing to have. _________________

The set index was what took me to fbtb in the first place, there were reviews of almost all released SW sets then. If it could be updated with reviews (perhaps just as a link to the forum review thread), the site would be even better resource for everyone interested in SW LEGO.
Perhaps a little corner with pictures from previous contests? That's a thing I think people are interested in. I know they can be found in the forums, but a link on the front page perhaps?
I know these suggestions are mainly interesting for newcomers, but we have (almost) all been new here. _________________ I'm no zombie |

I believe the entire online LEGO community has splintered or diversified enough (depending on how you see it) that I think things like the set list and MOCs as part of the main site, in my opinion, shouldn't be the focus. User reviews and discussion threads are fairly flourishing on the boards; making more news items that link to "worthy" threads like those and getting people interacting as a community is great and takes the burden of writing all those reviews, say, off one person and spreads it among the populace. Let the community do the work instead of having to fall back on the "well we just don't have time to do XYZ."
Even if I do more reading than posting these days, FBTB has and always will be about the community and news items, to me. If I want set lists, I can easily check out Bricklink, Peeron, or Brickset– sites that are set up largely to address that singular need and already do it very well. MOCs are at Flickr, Brickshelf, or MOCpages. Each of those examples has dedicate sites already and I'm not sure trying to take over their prominence by integrating those things here would be time and energy well-spent. (I do like the cross-site integration like the links to the FBTB Flickr pool, for example... It's not the focus of the staff here, but is available as a parallel feature for those who use it.)
Community (discussions, contests, user threads, interviews, builder spotlights) and Star Wars LEGO news are what draw me here. Getting the boards' phpBB version updated and keeping news items up-to-date, both on the main page and with "discuss here" links to threads in the fourms, are what I'd like to see the majority of time spent on.
EDITed for a few fixes.
