I have a real problem with the Riddler being the new villian. It's just that his name is so close to the Joker, you know what I mean? I mean come on, we have a jokes and riddles thread. I know the Riddler is a great villian, but it might look like the filmmakers are trying to recreate the glory of Heath's Joker and make more money, if you see what I'm saying. And as for people saying the Croc or Bane will be the next villian, and there creation would be some government experiment gone wrong, but that's almost a cliche now for superhero movies. Think about it: The Hulk (Both of them), Spiderman, and so many more. Well, maybe not many, but I can't thinl of them all. And for Catwoman; I was reading an article on IGN about who the next villian would be, and they pointed out it would be hard to explain why some lady runs around in a cat outfit because it took half a movie to explain why Batman did it. And for Thrasher's spoiler post, the Joker will not be coming back, no one can recreate Heath's performance and even if they did, they would probably honor Ledger, after all, that was his last complete film I believe.

Everyone wants the Riddler. Like Aliens is to Alien, there's a way to make a sequel, without remaking the previous film. Let's just wait and see.

And the Riddler isn't as close to the Joker as you'd think.

Besides that, Killer Croc wasn't a government experiment gone wrong, and I doubt Bane is quite realistic enough to make it into a Nolan film.

Hmm, my brother saw X-files and he said that it was one of the worst movies he has seen in a while. Confused

Must not have watched the TV series. The first movie, and this movie, are exactly what X-Files is all about.

I think the Riddler, Bane, and Catwoman could all be morphed into something more realistic. Although squeezing the stories of the latter two into a movie would be very difficult or time consuming... Although they bypassed that with the Joker. But I don't think they'd get by with it again.

I severely doubt that Catwoman will be a villain in any of the Nolan films, just because of the Catwoman movie. After that movie, would you want to see anything else with that character in it?

Saw The Dark Knight tonight. It was pretty good film, woth the 9 I paid for it. Seriously dark, though, much darker and more melancholic than I expected, even after Batman Begins.

**SPOILERS** (as if anyone wouldn't have seen it already..)

The thing that surprised me - or shocked, really - was the death of Rachel. I never saw it coming, I really thought they wouldn't dare to exterminate her character. I was, in fact, expecting to see at least a semi-happy ending, like in the previous film, but no. Rachel dead, Dent maniac, Batman accused for murders, Fox leaving.. Damn.
Nah, maybe I'm just more a romanticist than I'd like to confess. Razz

**SPOILERS END HERE**

Anyway, TDK was a good movie, but it also had some let-downs, to be honest. In my opinion, the close combat action sequences of Batman weren't as well done as in BB; they seemed somewhat tedious. The casting for Rachel wasn't that successful, either. As for Ledger's role.. it was a bit of a disappointment to me. He did quite great job, but I expected something more, because of all the hype and hubbub about his performance on the web. In addition, the character of Joker wasn't quite what I have pictured over the years (though as a non-Batman-fanboy, who am I to speak?). He seemed too.. uncertain, in the lack of better word.
Oh well, one should never expect too much. Lesson learned - again.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine trailer/teaser is on youtube also.

I had to go to the Gametrailers.com (linky) to watch it, for I couldn't find it on YouTube, just some fake trailers and fan-made videos.

I did, however, experience something completely new to me when searching the teaser trailer. One video started quite normally, very X-menish, but suddenly a strange music started to play and a man and a woman begun to dance on the screen with the 80s style.. And then he started to sing.

Yep, I got rickrolled. Very Happy

Fox didn't leave. Fox said he wouldn't be around as long as the sonar spying machine was around at Wayne Enterprises, and it was destroyed at the end of the movie.

Maybe it's to do with the fact that it's a small theater?

In all the time that I've been going there, no movie has ever been late. Here are some movies which are going to be ready to see as soon as they come out: Star Wars: Clone Wars, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, Wild Child, Space Chimps, The Oxford Murders.

As for The Dark Knight, I really do not know. I'll ask at the ticket desk when I go and see it. Then, I'll report back to you all. It really does puzzle me. Question

Not in the UK. TDK was July 24, Space Chimps comes out in a week or something like that.

Oy...that's too bad. There's always next time, and TDK doesn't look like it's going away anytime soon.

Saw The Dark Knight again last knight. And just because that's who I am, and I'd taken everything in, I tried looking out for whatever there was to see but was hidden very subtly.
The thing I liked most was that the disk brakes on his Lambo where bat shaped. I thought it was like that the first time round, but now I'm sure. I like things like that.

But yeah, awesome movie. However, with most movies people (me too) generally find that the film is better second time round. Considering I saw this at the IMAX first time round, and took just about everything in, I don't think it's so this time.
But that doesn't stop it being amazing and fantastic. Smile

Caution: Spoilers ahead:

I just got back from seeing TDK. I loved it!! I really didn't expect the Joker to be in the heist in the opening scene. Part of it was because none of the Clowns sounded like Joker. The things Joker did made me cringe a little. Mainly the part where he gouged the guy's eye out with the 'dissappearing pen'. It was still hilarious, though. The one time I actually laughed out loud was when Joker was talking to the mob bosses and said, (I'm paraphrasing) "A year ago these cops and lawyers wouldn't dare bother you! What happened? Did your balls fall off?" Laughing
