|
|
Please see Page 3 for the latest info!
-----
As posted here, Lego's newest round of Ambassadors are being chosen a little differently than before. The fan communities (websites, LUGs, and more) will be sending up to 3 nominees for consideration.
From the release:
What might a LEGO Ambassador be committing too?
* In depth discussion with other like minded LEGO Fans.
* An opportunity to speak with LEGO Group representatives on what is important to the AFOL communitiy.
* Occasional opportunities to give feedback on upcoming ideas for different parts of the LEGO Group (require NDA).
* A chance to submit their own ideas and ideas from the communities they represent on what they would like to see from the LEGO Group.
* Participation in projects which support the community like helping rebuild LEGOfan.org and many other community related projects.
So here's your chance to nominate FBTB members. Since every community is allowed to pick their nominees however they choose, the staff decided to choose Mike (Count Blockula) as one nominee, and leave the other 2 up to you guys!
Post who you'd like to see represent us as Ambassador to the Lego company! You are not allowed to suggest yourself: anyone who does will be immediately dropped for consideration. (However, you may post that you are interested in the role. Your fellows might then nominate you!*) It is up to the nominated members to decide whether to accept or decline the nomination. If someone you have suggested turns down the consideration, do not continue voicing your vote for that person. The numbers of nominations for each individual will be totalled up on May 19th, and the top 2 nominees will be submitted for consideration along with Mike, though only one will be chosen by Lego to represent us!
*If we hear of members utilizing the PM system to spam for votes, you are immediately disqualified. _________________ [b:47f5051a03][color=red:47f5051a03]BULLETIN ISSUED SATURDAY 01.31.2009 11:59:59PM PST. ATTENTION ALL CITIZENS: PLEASE READ THIS[/color:47f5051a03][/b:47f5051a03]

Nannan and Olog get my votes, assuming I can vote here having already voted personally on the Flickr group... _________________ http://www.ogame.org |

It's probably pointless in saying this since he's already nominated, but I can't think of anyone rather than Mike that I'd like to see be the ambassador. So I very much approve of the staff's choice.
Oh, and being ambassador sounds like an awesome time. I doubt I'd ever get nominated though.
Maybe I'll think of someone to suggest, but I'm having trouble coming up with anyone right now. _________________

Personally, I'd nominate Nannan and Rocko, given they're willing. I'd love to see their particular styles echoed more in LEGO's sets. I do worry though that Mike would be the sanest of the three (That's a scary thought).
Somehow, I get the feeling that the feedback sessions would go something like this:
LEGO: So, what do you guys think of the set?
Nannan: It needs more pain and suffering.
Rocko: And gay innuendo!
Mike: Umm, guys, this is LEGO. It needs to be child frie...
Nannan & Rocko: TENTACLES!!
Mike: *sigh* _________________ With common principles to the next level - Brrraaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnss........ |

I think Rocko and Nannan would be excellent ambassadors, they are always pumping out new and highly varied projects. Mike is an excellent choice because of his constant use of easy and new techniques that would give LEGO an edge. _________________ Brickshelf | flickr |

Sorry guys, I'm not interested in a job that doesn't pay.
I'm going with Nannan and Olog (Adrian). Those guys would do a great job.
And of course Mike, who everyone would have selected anyways without it being mandatory. _________________ |)0U{|-|3 |)0U{|-|3===================================

Although disturbing, I can't possily see how it would turn out any differently. But that's really a very good thing....I think. _________________

I appreciate your nominations very much
In addition to Mike, I would like to approve Olog for the nomination, who has expressed interest and is a proficient builder and a nice guy. _________________

Olog and Morgan19 have my votes for nomination.
They are thoroughly qualified with their expertise ranging from the complex to the simplistic, how to emulate shapes and designs, to inspired creativity.
Good luck guys, I have faith in you! _________________

I'll go with M19, Nannan and Mike. They're all great builders, and would do great things as ambassadors. (they better, or no churros... ) _________________ Oh, signatures are so over rated. =D

Although he's not interested, I'm still going to give one of my votes to RebelRock. And my other one would go to Solo. Don Solo. _________________ This post was only a test.

What part of "If someone you have suggested turns down the consideration, do not continue voicing your vote for that person" didn't you understand? |
Oh, "my bad", he put a winkey at the end of his sentence, so I couldn't tell if he was joking or not. I apologize. And, since my other vote has respectfully declined as well, I suppose I'll vote again...
I vote for Olog and... dW. Well, he's probably not that interested either, but he still gets my vote. _________________ This post was only a test.

Bwah? Well, since some folks are nutty enough to throw my name in, I'm game.
If I were a betting morgan, I'd dare say that Mike's the most likely contender. Given that he's spoken for, so to speak, I'd like to put my two actual votes towards suggesting Pepa Quin and add an additional nod for Olog (despite his sleepy attempts at feigning confusion ).

I have to put my vote in for Nannan. He's pretty well-known in the community, and has mad skillz with the brick. Also, knowing him personally, I can say that he's very personable, can get very motivated and down-to-business on projects and even has legit administrative and public-relations experience (he's the president of his rescollege's college council).
Also, Olog. 'Cause he's cool. _________________

I would like to start with thanking everyone who has nominated me. The title of Ambassador would be one of the best things to happen. I have already proved active on numerous forums, participated in community contests, I'm most active on Flickr where I lurk most of my time. I have an interview as an AFOL in a Design/Art magazine, and I am the founder of the only LUG for Romania, trying to open the minds of FOLs in this country. It is an amazing feeling to be recognized by LEGO themselves and I would enthusiastically fulfill the role of Ambassador.
Now, I want to give my support to Nannan , he has proven himself to be a very versatile and talented builder, an active member of numerous communities, and a nice guy.
Second, I'm nominating Morgan19 . From his activity I can tell he's the straight-to-the-point kind of guy and would do a great job.
