The Darling Apollo, here in the Machina Nosejob edition, is a craft without equal. Made of the finest wood and iron, it's not only a beauty a look at - it also pack a mighty punch. The immense engines gives it a power of nearly five horses combined, but due to it's hovering nature it handles terrain much better than the land-based creatures. At such dizzying speed the vehicle's controller must be sharp-witted, precise and elegant - all prerequisites fulfilled by gracious driver Trenton Telgaard.

Prepare the race!

Ditto. The huge yellow prop at the back is slightly out of style, but still very cool, and adds to the wackiness of this machine. Fantastic job, but where is this in the SW universe?

R2 Lou2: I'm guessing those are, in fact, big LEGO tires turned inside out.

Bohman:

I'm not completely sold on the Yellow bit in the back - its it meant to help the pod end hover? You'd think even in steampunk-land those front engines would be enough to drag the cabin into the air.

Overall, though - Very nice, and very gritty in a functional-looking way. And whatever those black things really are - good use of parts!

This would be a pod racer. I hoped that would be clear enough - isn't it?

CJ is spot on that they're tires turned inside out. These tires, to be more exact. As for the prop in the back: I never consider physics when building. It was purely an aesthetic choice, and I like it there Wink

Fantastic!
All hail the winner! Very Happy
Seriously though, it's gonna be hard for anything else to top this.
It has a nice balance of aesthetic design and steampunkishness.
