When I click on a topic that was moved, it says that is does not exist. Was it moved to the nether-world? Very Happy
We used to be taken to the topic wherever it happened to be. Can this be changed?

It might have been moved to a forum you can't access.

Mmm, like which? I can access all of them and I still get the "message not found" error when I click on a few. So unless there's an invisible board section somewhere...

It seems like they've been deleted but are showing up as moved?

What was the thread? If it was a suggestion, it was moved to the Administrators Forum.

I don't know if it was a suggestion or not. The topic was:

Moved: White lettering on the buttons?

I have no idea what it was about, and maybe I never will Crying or Very sad

I saw that post...it was just someone saying that the white letters on the 'Profile' 'PM' 'Edit' ,etc. buttons was a bit hard to read/see...? Confused

Yep, that's what it was. And it was most likely moved to the Administrator forum so it could explicitly be brought to attention.

That was my topic. Cool And yes, it was a concern that white lettering on light-colored buttons wasn't very easy to read. IIRC Collin mentioned it's being worked on, so that's probably why it was moved to the mysteriously invisible admins forum then.

Woo-doo doo-doo, tres X-Files...

I see. I hadn't noticed the buttons, didn't even see them at all, just green blocks. ::D:

Aah, that'll be my fault - I didn't realise the 'suggestions' forum wasn't public domain. I can move them back if it's a problem, but they are probably better off where they are now - the suggestion has been made & they are more noticable to the management - but if it's a problem, I can move them back.

Darn noob mods ... Rolling Eyes

Very Happy

There should be a public area for making suggestions, though, whether it's in here or elsewhere. Besides if they stay in sight there's less of a chance someone'll make the same suggestions over and over.

Rolling Eyes

Just seems a little odd to have a whole 'nother section devoted to suggestions, only hidden from the majority of users. It'd be fine here if they weren't deleted or moved as they seem to regularly be now. As it stands, the suggestions or conversations about this sort of thing will just disappear, making the sort of constructive talks about how to improve the boards fruitless.

To rephrase what was ridiculed: I think it would be nice to have a section where suggestions could be offered and built upon by the community, not squirreled away, whether they're made real or not. There's a difference between the two.

Right kiddo, cool your jets. Looks like someone has had a sense of humour failure.

No one was "ridiculing" your suggestion. And lets be honest, it's hardy a new suggestion, if the framework for implementing it was already in place. I suggest you go back and actually read what was said above. Then read on ...

There is a "suggestions" forum; as far as I and the other mod that has been around for much of the day knew it was open to all. It isn't, and we don't know why yet. My guess is that it's something Ace had lined up for release, but not just yet. Obviously no one is going to move any more threads until the role of that forum is clarified. I've already made the offer to move the threads back, if there is a good reason to.

If you've still got a problem with the way I've handled this, take it to PM.

I'm not angry. ::D: I just wanted the idea to be taken seriously and not shrugged off with a one-liner and a laugh: it'd already been mentioned that it'd probably stay "hidden" as that "makes the most sense," so I offered another viewpoint on that. No problem really, I just thought having it public and allowing people to always chat about updates or changes would be better than hiding them. If nothing else, it seemed a little odd when threads started mysteriously disappearing under the pretense of "Topic moved" and yet didn't seem to exist anywhere... Having the suggestions area public would remedy having to hear similar "what happened to...?" posts in the future, too.

Didn't mean any offense, sorry if it came across that way. Internet can be tricky that way, as well all know. (And "kiddo?" Mmm... I could do without that next time. Razz)

Sorry, but I didn't intend it to seem like that - I offered to move them back after all. Where they are at the moment they aren't going to get lost in the noise of the rest of the forums; that's the only reason I suggested they were better off where they are.

Once again, as far as I knew, until this thread appeared this morning, everyone could see the moved threads in the other forum - it was a genuine surprise to me that you couldn't see them.

This has been done to death now; I'm locking this thread. Once again, if you have any outstanding issues, PM me.
