Hello again so soon Bothans,
For Clashie's mini contest, here is my space ship entry. It is in the scale of LEGO's imperial star destroyer play set and slightly smaller than the ISD in "real life."

Introducing the Katari War Hammer:

Flickr

The ship is exactly 2 feet long. It is an enlargement of a 3-piece microscale creation:

In relationship to the Katari Relic, you can see it in this picture:

Here is the backstory:

Sacrifice - until you have witnessed a Katari die for his own kind, you will never know the glory of their race.

In the cold outreaches of space, an empire silently swells. Deep within the looming silhouette of the Katari battle station, Destiny watches as the Katari engineer the most deadly battle cruiser of the galaxies. Stretching an enormous 1,300 meters, the empty frame of the giant sleeps soundly amidst the droning of alien technology inside the great chamber. To the Katari, great honor comes with great sacrifice, and such high honor was bestowed upon a select few of the Katari who will dedicate themselves to the epic battle cruiser project. These honored ones will remain inside the great chamber until the project is completed. Meter by meter, the Katari installed the armor on the prototype. Wire by wire, they connected the systems of the ship. Fourteen cumbersome years of progress saw the completion of the battle cruiser. At last, the gates of the great chamber opened and the remainder of the engineers, having aged markedly while others have passed away, set sail on their most glorious flight. For the first time, the beings of the Katari race saw of the signature vessel of their empire. To demonstrate the awe-inspiring power of the battle cruiser, an immense asteroid the size of a small moon was directed into the firing range of the deadly destroyer. As the looming goliath unyieldingly coursed towards the ship, it was met with an enormous energy blast from the main cannon of battle cruiser that instantly obliterated its target. From this demonstration the Katari War Hammer was born. Now, with the completion of the Katari battle station, 68 War Hammers serve the mighty empire. A time of glory has come...

-Nannan

PS- I do not have a gallery available at the moment, the pictures were extremely difficult to take, and I will try again another time.

Katari is exclusive for this contest. They like to die for honor and having things that shoot big lasers.

That is just amazing, it is very colourful but also put together very nicely. Your MOC's are always great Nannan, if a little freaky sometimes...

Which do they pride more big shooty lasers or honor?

You know, most people take the easier path of finding a large ship and shrinking it down to miniscale... but you, being the madman that you are, have to do just the opposite (and beautifully I might add). The only thing I would like to see different is a step added to the read of the engines, to fully replicate the binocs from your mini. But the inverted slopes at the front to simulate the bulge of the clip and the darkbley pattern along the side of it that make the lines of the claw thing really purposeful now are brilliant.

Hi Don, I had thought about making the rear engines look more like the binocs, but couldn't think of a method of adding in that extra set of rings.

Duck, the Katari's pride is greater than anything, but their vessels and structures usually have a giant central laser cannon.
