This policy has been in place since the inception of FBTB, and it is what sets us apart from the average LEGO fansite. Essentially, FBTB does not endorse the spread of stolen information and therefore we don't allow it on the board. We've been somewhat lax about the discussion of leaked information on future sets lately while still removing embedded images and links to them off site - and this has caused a lot of confusion about what is and isn't allowed. So we've decided to make it clear for everyone.
Simply put - if it didn't come from:• the official LEGO.com website,
• a publication produced by The LEGO Group,
• or another source given specific legal permission by TLG to talk about or display images of it, - then it is to be considered leaked information and should not be discussed or linked to on FBTB. This applies to new sets, parts, ...everything.
Any violations (such as but not limited to scans from dealer catalogs, pictures or set descriptions from employees only areas, stock numbers from a retailer's inventory system, and thinly veiled references to any of these) will be subject to editing or deletion by the staff at their discretion. If you find something you would like to post but you are unsure if it has been officially released yet you must check with a staff member before posting it or it will be deleted. This policy is non-negotiable and multiple violations may result in disciplinary action by the admins.
For details on why we enforce this policy, please be sure to read bluemoose's post on it here.
Thank you for your cooperation, and enjoy your FBTB experience. -The staff |
