That's one awesome custom. Sorry, but I don't know what to use. I would try paint. But still it looks great so far. _________________ ... |

Wow. Very nice! Like Xeta, I don't know what to tell you in terms of paint. A decal would probably be your best bet. Good job! _________________

Mystery Machine, I've had great results using Testor's spray paints. Try spraying the helmet in silver and then hand painting the copper details. When done, be sure to use a clear overspray to protect the paint. A decal should only be used for very specific details, and NOT to try and completely cover a piece like that (sorry Scitvs, but had to call you on that).
Also MM,I'd like to say your custom is looking great, I really like how simplistic it is, and the helmet is by far the best part. _________________ Cute and deadly, still deadly. |

This was made using the testors gold spray paint. You can see how nice and even the coat is. I used a dull overcoat on it, but I think you can get a gloss spray overcoat for your helmet. _________________ Cute and deadly, still deadly. |

How did you make the holes? (I believe a dremel is too small, no?)
Anyway, I want one for Johnny Thunder! _________________ Somebody set up us the bomb!

I've said this is what a Lego divers was lacking all along, an old deep sea diver adventure series. All thats missing is an old wreck of a pirate ship and one very cross eight-legged sea monster?
Well done! This is almost near perfect, just paint it bronze and it's there.
You must have spent alot of time sanding as that helmet looks brilliant!
Once again well done and I nice use of parts, regards Marty. |

Very nice
I must say it looks really good!
One suggestion is that an alternative helmet would be the one from mr freeze. A little bit of painting/decal will do it wonders _________________ ~~~ sUpeRnOvA ~~~ |

That exact tubing only comes in clear, for use with the light bricks as fiber optic cable. You may have to try a local plastics store near you for something more what you're looking for; but anything by Lego won't be as flexible if you want it in black. (I can only think of the tubes used in the podracer sets).
Great job by the way, can't wait to see the finished product! Your dad will love it! |

You may try using black Krylon Fusion paint on the tubing, let dry for 3 days(it'll be dry before then, but it takes a while to fuse to the plastic). The fusion should keep it from flaking off when the tube is bent, assuming its let dry long enough. I haven't tried this yet, but I have thought about it. Emily is more of an expert than I will probably ever become. Do you think that it'd work, Emily?

Not to be rude but... why would a forklift driver wear a diving helmet ? _________________ I has a flickr!

Awesome work. I love the helmet. The whole air pump set up is great.
I've always thought that the chrome harpoons were a little short for minifigs. Try sticking a lightsabre hilt on it to make it longer. _________________ "One day you're the most important person in the world, the next you're some shmoe working in a box factory." - Krusty the Clown

Oh, sorry, I misinterpreted. I thought you meant using the HELMET idea, not the giving-minifig-to-father idea . _________________ I has a flickr!

Are you going to paint the helmet? Like the classic gold or bronze color? _________________ I <3 my Lancer Evo VI |

yeah , im gona paint it, not bronze though, silver, as they were tinned when being used, they are only bronze when the tin has been taken off, at that looks nice, but renders them useless for diving
but i need to get the paint first _________________ I am like one sad, dog food eating, hippy
