|
|
After seeing now at the time 3 group projects with only 2 in general organized, I just want to help everyone that want to start a new one.
1. Firstly think of your idea. Would people like it and have interest? Is it something that also people with a small amount of bricks can make? Would it be fun to make?
2. Is there already a project or contest, wait until it finished. If they have to split their bricks up between 2, the more bad MOCs you get.
3. Make it clear for everybody. Don't make a submission date, its no contest! Also, if somebody asks you a question, update your rules with the answer. A lot easier for the rest then search trough all the posts.
4. Ask permission to a MOD before you post your project.
If you don't know who you should pm, here are some who are the most online. The links are links to their pm.
-Don Solo
-Cello Collin
-Austin
I hope this helps. Please think before you start a new project. _________________

Good advice Stefan! Mucho deserving of a STICKY.
EDIT: You may want to include "Get a MOD's permission" _________________ )2eady? "A Royale with cheese"

Well put, Stefan.
I'd add a line about the importance of clearly defined dates as well.

I've been planning a group project for a while which should come into full bloom after the Elections/X-Wing Contest.
Those pointers have really helped me get a better plan. _________________

STOP all this nonsense!
This state of competing group projects is NOT what I had in mind when I started the idea.
If you want to be a project coordinator, are you in it just because you want your name to be known as THE instigator of the project? Or are you really in it to rally everybody and help bring out the best works from this community?
Think about it!
You know who you are and respect those who've started before you rather than quoting without any specifics where this whole idea came from.

That's propaganda for Jake.
Don't do that - you may be banned for the rest of the election period. _________________

You need a MOD's permission to do a group project? I didn't know that. _________________

Not offically, but it's a good idea. I think someone should PM a MOD, to aprove this, and sticky it. _________________ It's time for FBTBForums.net to "Get off my plane". |

Number (4) is a very good idea, IMHO
We don't want a load of these things running at the same time, & we also want them to be 'quality' ideas ... saves a lot of agro in the longer term, reducing the chances of people getting upset, something the staff are keen to promote.

Keep this in mind ladies and gents... we've got four contests/projects going on right now. Kinda deflates them to have so many at once. |
