Darrrrrrrrrrrrn...!!
This sounds like such a good MOC compo and I have some ideas I *really* wanna try that I think would work well for an "R-wing"!!
Unfortunately, I don't have access to my parts bin (packed up for moving house!) and even if I did I'm just waaaaaaaay to busy at work to even contemplate trying to justify the time I'd wanna spend messing with this thing until I got it right.
Boo.
I look forward to seeing what you all come up with though!
Good luck, guys! _________________ They were in the wrong place at the wrong time

It looks like from all the spare bionicle elements that I have, the three color choices for the prize would be green, white, and....
wait for it....
burnt orange. _________________ flickr |

Ace, is there a chance you could build the M-Wing in all 3 colour variations and show us, so as to make it easier for the winner to choose - if it isn't too much of a time waster I think people may appreciate it _________________

Jon posted a pic of his M-Wings in several different colors:

I personally like the looks of the burnt orange one the best. However, if I wanted to be able to use the parts for other stuff, I'd probably go with green since I don't have much in the way of burnt orange parts.
Ry is right. Making an 'R' (and making it look like a decent ship) is hard!

I think it's a little easier and more interesting a shape than the "S-wing". _________________ flickr |

Unfortunatly, due to a last minute trip to Connecticut on the dates needed to finish my entry, I wont be able to enter. I will look at everyones entries, though, and comment. Good luck everyone! _________________ \m/ Proud to be punk! \m/ |

Every body saying how hard it is to get the shape of the r-wing right. I found the perfect piece for the hump, or dome, or whatever you call. I'm not bragging or anything, I'm just expressing my happyness. _________________ I hate that freakin' mushroom! |

Hehe a week ago I too brainstormed a piece for the hump. I wonder if we are thinking the same pieces? The piece happens to be brand new. |

OK, so this is harder than expected. I'm more of a non builder collector and having produced only two space MOCs ever, this is streching my brain. After making quite a few sketches to find the front and top of an "R" shaped ship, my wife pitched in with a workable design. All credits to her as she is NOT a fan of LEGO. So, armed with the sketch, I have, for the last four days, been trying to interpret this into LEGO form. Easy enough to imagine how it should look, not so easy when it comes to actually putting the bricks in place. Hopefully there will be a decent model to show off at the end of the month.
Onions, good of you for these contests. It's got the arm chair AFOL, me, out of the arm chair and into the bricks I'm looking forward to seeing how the rest of you guys have interpreted the shape.
May the best "R" win. _________________ # # # # # # # # # #

My first thought was the Slave 1 canopy. And if that was my first thought, then a dozen or more other people thought of it, too. Too easy, so I'm not using it. |
My thoughts exactly. Now, in addition to being stumped on what to build, I'm also in the midst of resorting my entire collection. And I'm leaving to visit family in 10 days, 3k miles from my Lego. I'm not optimistic about entering any more... _________________ ~Barbarossa

The D part of my R isn't made with a single piece, it's actually a profile of three pieces+siding.
Oh, and I figured out which way the ship should fly, it looks much better in one direction than another. :p

this might help. when building anything, sometimes it pays to step away from the process and think about other things. it'll open up your mind a bit for different possibilities and ideas. sometimes you just pigeonhole yourself into a certain method or idea that it actually is detrimental to the process. _________________ flickr |

::D: ::D: Oh wow I totaly agree, I mean for the most part of it I have an excellent cockpit design I've been dying to use in a ship that works perfect for this contest its just getteing the legs of the 'R' to work out just right and to actualy be on there solid without falling off . Hopefully the contests MINE but than again I've been wrong about that B4.

My cockpit design is remarkably cool too, it's in the only place there was room for it... I can't wait for the contest, I know I said that I was finished a week ago, but I keep making little changes, it's addictive... _________________ http://www.ogame.org |

Yeah, I know what you mean, I finished mine 2 days after the contest was announced but I've been tweaking it almost every day I can't wait to show everybody my first MOC. |
