| Debuting day-and-date with the individual Star Wars Trilogy DVDs and Lego game are new lines of licensed Star Wars merchandise and toys. Exciting new offerings from the popular Star Wars collections of Hasbro and LEGO will be on the shelves |
This comes from the offical 'Star Wars' magazine by Titan in the UK. It must be true because this magazine is also called 'The offical Lucasfilm propagander and George Lucas is God appreciation Magazine' by some British fans.
Looks like an expensive year is just about to get more so! But what sets will we get???? _________________ My Brickshelf |

You should know shoudn't you? On Topic now: This is some really awsome news, who knows what we might get? This kinda stuff proves that 2006 and or 2007 will be an awsome year for lego, and starwars fans everywhere! _________________

That is interesting news !! Tks roguebantha
We already had an article here saying that we would have new sets, but this article uses the term "on the shelves" meaning non exclusive sets yeay !!
TRU Buy 2 get 3 here I am !!
Now the only questions is what sets are we getting !! Would be great to have an AT-ST version (like the Imperial Inspection) with rebels, Imperials and scenery !!
A Hoth version would be great with a gun turret and 10 MFs (including new AT-ST pilot !!) OK I am dreaming but that would be amazing !!

I predict a re-designed Y-Wing and an system scale AT-ST that resembles the UCS version and the one seen in the trailers for the Lego Star Wars II videogame. _________________ "This is my hour!" |

I would definitly want a redesign of the Y-Wing ! That beautifull ship really needs a face lift (apart the swith to bluish grey like the re-release of 2004).
There is another ship that needs a redesign as well: the Tie Bomber !! That version looks old and out of place next to the more "modern" Tie Interceptors and Tie Fighters. Also the model we have is still in Old Grey !!
Oh well, we'll see in due time hehe !!
On a side note I imagine Steve's face (and all the people with knowledge of future releases) reading what we write in those "guessing" threads ::D:

Guys, this is an interesting thread so please behave or this will be closed shortly I sense !! Tks in advance
Going back on topic: Lego released fantastic sets in September like the USB and more important Imperial Inspection (drooling at this set) !!
Lets hope we will have more Imperial Inspection sets alike: great vehicles and loads of figs (including new figs) These sets are perfect for kids becuse they can play directly, and for us, SW crazy people and army builders

Yeah, uh sorry about that.
I really am looking forward to this. I hope we get a New Naboo Starfighter set. Only this one would come with actual Naboo pilots. _________________

I'm assuming that these will be OT sets, since they're coinciding with the release of the OT DVDs and the OT LEGO SW game. |

For a change, it would be nice if you admitted your own mistake.
Back on topic - Great find RogueBantha . This is really turning out to be a great year for Star Wars Lego. A Y-wing redesign would be nice, but as Lego Star Wars II uses the old design I think that could be doubtful. I just hope some new mini-figs are on the way - Death Star Trooper, Endor Rebel Soldier, Admiral Ackbar, etc! |

Just a suggestion - no one speak back to Privateeye for a while. If we ignore him, maybe he'll stop. If you want to argue, do it via PM. Or not at all. Just stop.
Anywho, as much as I would like to see some OT themes, I think we're just going to get a few more Ep. 3 sets. Maybe a gunship. |

Yeah, good idea. I would love an Episode Three Gunship!! That would be awsome. _________________

What I'd really like to see is a Death Star playset with at least the following figures: Luke and Han in stormtrooper outfits, Ben Kenobi and Grand Moff Tarkin. Here's hoping for 2007.
Some Death Star gunners (with their helmets) would be cool too but that may be pushing it. _________________ "This is my hour!" |

Seeing as the new Star Destroyer is almost a Death Star (Tarkin and a mouse droid), I doubt we would get one, though it would be nice to have a Death Star turbolaser tower with a control room.
As for possible sets, I wouldn't be suprised if we got another X-wing, along with a new Y-wing. Otherwise, I can only think of new Endor sets. _________________ Check out my MOCpage and Flickr.

Back on-topic: I think it is logical that we will not be getting any sets that feature in LSWII (also out in September) and have not been redesigned for the game (unless they are boring old rereleases that haven't been changed at all). If possible, could someone post a list of vehicles that we have seen (in LSWII trailers) that are already released and unchanged for the game (hope that makes sense!), as I haven't seen the trailers in a while. I do, however, vaguely remember a bantha in one of the trailers. Maybe that's a possibility? Other than a bantha, I'm thinking prequels. Ooh, so many things... Droid gunship, Greivous' starfighter, homing spider droid, more podracers, new jedi...
If I were Lego (we'd all be doomed, but that's not the point.), I would make use of the new Expanded Universe liscence and crack out some Clone Wars sets! Oh, look at that, I'm actually drooling!
Anyway, I think I'm babbling, so I'll end this post as I usually do,
The Jinja Ninja
EDIT: Wow, a lot of people post a lot of stuff while I'm typing... |

I know that the X-Wing featured in Lego Star Wars II is the one from set 4502. I like to think therefore that it will remain the definitive system scale X-Wing for some time. _________________ "This is my hour!" |

This is great news. I'm happy to see that Lego is keeping the new sets coming. I would truely love to see Clone Wars sets, I've been saying this for years, but Clone Wars sets would just be so awesome! I think that we'll be seeing OT sets though, not PT, some new mini figures would be nice. _________________ "Begun the Clone War has."

The Jinja Ninja,
I just watched LSW2 trailer again and here are the info I gathered:
Same models:
* Snowspeeder redesign
* Falcon redesign
* X-Wing redesign
* Y-wing
* AT-AT (apart the blue parts)
Not sure:
* Speeder from ep4
* Endor Speeder bike
New:
* Escape pod from Ep4
* AT-ST
This can give us an insight IF TLC wishes to have new sets in accordance with the release of the game

I downloaded the trailer somwhere, but since I am not sure if I can tell you were, I won't
However, you can view it on Lucasart's website here
Hope that helped, and sorry for this off topic post

Ace,
you can find the article on Lucasfilm.com
You can read the full article here
The passage quoted by roguebantha in the initial post of this thread is the third starting from the end.
Hope this helped !!
