Hello!

The contest has prompted me to build my first ever steampunk creation; a steam A-wing.

D1-

Ya know what I think?

This is cool. Way cool.

I definitely see steampunk right away, even if a bit un-obvious and after a second, I see A-Wing, Especially the side view and rear 3/4 view. Now I look back at the front 3/4 view and see it. My only suggestion is to use brown instead of tan on the nose.

How exactly are those 1x4 tiles held on?

Thanks for the responses. Smile

@ Rogue13. Thanks for your suggestion. I would have made the front brown if I could, but the only other colors I had the right parts in were black and white... I think tan looks the best of the three.

The tiles are attached to 1x1 clips, which are then attached to flex tube running along the side of the ship. You can kind of see it in this picture.

This I like. Awing all over,
and the fact that the panels up the side dont quite line up breaks the uniform shape.
The boiler caps at the rear may look better dome shaped
but all in all great...I'm off to the lego shop.

Yeah, I looked @ that picture, but couldn't figure it out. The clips seem (to me) to be going the wrong way to hold on the tiles. Confused

I really like it. It has a very smooth appearance, and is really well done. Good job!

I really like the effect you got with the brown tiles. Almost looks like a polished shell of wood for some primitive aerodynamicness. Good luck!
