Here's my entry for the attack droid contest...
Designed to be fast and agile, the AT-PD is a top of the line droid suitable for attack missions and patrol details. Armed with two light blaster cannons on each side for counter troop suppression and one heavy blaster underneath to clear obstacles or barricades and destroy enemy equipment. The internal sensor array and remote uplink make this small biped an ideal candidate for reconnaissance as well. The versatility of this new droid will be a great asset for the ever expanding Imperial Army.

So, you like? Very Happy

Wow, great work! It is perfect, and there is so much to like about it.

-So imperial

-Great size in comparison with the troopers

-A really economic build

-It has personality

I want to see an army of those!

Don, that is BY FAR the best droid in the contest yet, and I love how you continue the Roantha bipedal walker tradition! Razz

Love it. It's amazing how the simplicity of it makes it so great - just like Roy and M8.

Yes Don, Though I'd need the pieces for the wrench feet (Only have one), Instructions would be great! And not that hard to do, either. Razz

This bot is the perfect example of the "less is more" concept. It's simple, the head is plain, looks very deadly and cold... yet, the pose ability of the head, and overall movement gives it tons of character. Fun build.

Don, I'm trying to build one of these for myself, and I've been fairly successful except for the main head connections (underneath the main slope piece.) Could you take some deconstructed pics?

EDIT: Here's as far as I've gotten:

That makes me smile Gir, good work! Also...

I made instructions for it if anyone is interested:

( click here for a full size image if you need... )

Grays and blays may vary by your part selection...
Also - the round tile on the back has a grid pattern.

Of course, all details and colors are up to you. Wink

Thanks Don! I was fairly close to your design, but now I fixed it. The instructions are great, and that schematic thing is cool.

I also made a couple of the other entries, just for lack of better things to do. Wink

Here, take this bucket of Style Points.

Combat rating is moderate. The size, armor and speed let it flank enemy positions easily, but the weaponry is rather light once it arrives. Another problem is if it runs past the enemy position. It exposes its lightly armored vent and has to turn around to bring its weaponry to bear. I'd suggest a single heavier weapon on a swivel mount.

The single heavy blaster underneath is swivel mounted - you've got about 175 of range in addition to the easy direction shifting the legs allow. As for the vent on the back, chalk that up to good ol' imperial design flaw. It's just like it's big brother the AT-ST - no rear facing weaponry to speak of... that would be just excessive. It's armed about heavily as an AT-PT but it's a lot lighter and more agile. What more would you expect on a droid of it's class?

...Or I could just say it has a mini shield generator like the droidekas had, so once it attacks it's protected. But that'd be to easy of a copout. Wink

Absolutely awesome. I think I'll build one myself now that there are instructions. That's a good weekend project for me. Thanks for the instructions. Very Happy
