Well, thanks to the site being brought back up momentarily, I saved all my pics and deleted a few after I saved them. Maybe tomorrow I'll upload them unto my flickr account... _________________ I'm a Reliable Smuggler!

I don't know if this has already been said before (probably has been) but what about some of the older builders who aren't around anymore, but have amazing MOCs that should be saved somewhere. They can't just be erased. _________________

With everyone in a mad rush to get their files, plus other's his site's bandwidth is going to go through the roof.
I hope he has enough... _________________ -< Capt. Maarek >-

someone on another forum mentioned that this situation is like a fire going on at your house and you are frantically trying to get as much possible out. it sure is tricky trying to figure out what you are taking with you though.
so what are you guys getting (besides your own stuff).
my gallery thus far (in no order):
- errbt
- pepaquin
- nori
- moko
- robbed
- rgeiger
- blasterman
- xueren
- kaminoan |

Indeed lowlead, sounds great! In the meantime, I've3 just uploaded my first Flickr set. I must say, Flickr's interface is very intuitive and quite user-friendly. It's a great alternative for the time being, if not for the upload restrictions. _________________ Ironic, huh.

i am working on it as i type. actually, yesterday, i downloaded your opee during that hour or so window when you could download off of the https: address. i have always admired the intricacies and the detail of the model. i always loved your falcons as well. i started on my minifig scale (brickshelf id= legomd) many years ago, but stepped away due to time restraints. i have a ton of old light gray lying around for the future. |

Has anyone an idea with what to start saving?
I have the Falcon from Pepaquin and Flail, I have Warhawk's UCS models, I have my own gallery.
But there is so much more, random pictures, set pictures, minifig pictures, events...
Where to start, what to save, what to ignore?
Why can't Kevin say the reasons why he shuts down, why seems it that he does not accept help for giving the work and costs to another one?
There are so many who are willing to help in any kind, aren't there?

Thanks for the automation software, I'm grabbing all of the galleries I had bookmarked, but I'm having one weird problem with it...
Occasionally (fairly often), it just decides to say:
/gallery/marakoeschtra/Avatars/dsc05539.jpg
** Multimedia files have been temporarily disabled.
** Deleting file dsc05539.jpg
Now I'm not sure how that file is any different than, say, all of the other jpgs in the folder (it isn't any different), but literally it downloads it, then deletes it, and I can't stop it from deleting. As a result, some files in a folder could end up missing, and if you aren't watching closely, you'll never suspect it until sometime later when you look through (too late by then, probably).
Anyone else noticed this or know how to stop it? _________________

I wouldn't worry about Pepa's stuff. Another member just mentioned how he saved all of his pics and I'm sure Pepa either has back ups or saved them himself already. _________________ I'm a Reliable Smuggler!

| I'll probably get a Flickr account. Why is every one saying to upload your pics back to your computer? I thought that you had to save them to be able to but them on BS in the first place? |

Some people, like myself, deleted some of the pics from my/their computer when they were put on brickshelf. _________________ I'm a Reliable Smuggler!

The first page brickshelf.com does work again. That means you can access the 'most popular' site.
Anyone downloaded ACPin's gallery yet?
I have the one from weebleleezer (the one with the big aircraftcarrier), if someone is interested. _________________ ~Andi

I created a "Backed Up BrickShelf Galleries" thread for all the captured folders. I want links to the other sites that have organized efforts occuring. _________________

Exactly, if it's someone we all know and they're presently posting and active on one forum or another, we can always find them and ask - no problem.
Right now I'm focusing all my downloading efforts on those super-talented but esoteric builders that have never before made an appearance on any forum I frequent. If I don't catalog their stuff, i'll never find it again.
Brently Mills is a perfect example - has anyone spoken to this guy before?? _________________ >Me<

Stuff such as postcards, old sigs, etc. _________________

Um... wow. I was just looking at those folders an hour ago and getting quite a few laughs.
My own MAJ folder, which only had a few things, is also missing it's image. But on everything, the folder images have remained.

Im almost willing to bet they had a problem with a server overload or something. With all the influx of images from brickshelf members, it's surprising it has lasted this long. _________________
